Background
In Britain, we face a crisis-ridden government attempting to use racism to make ordinary people pay for the cost of living crisis. The ‘Rwanda plan’, racist deportations and the hostile environment for refugees and migrants are all about divide and rule and scapegoating. Safe passage now!
In Scotland, the ongoing public inquiry into Sheku Bayoh’s death in police custody in 2015 has uncovered the depths of institutional racism in our institutions. We must continue to mobilise for justice in support of the Bayoh family and to make the slogan #BlackLivesMatter a reality. No more deaths in custody, no more impunity.
Internationally, we are seeing the growth of the racist and fascist right and an alarming rise in Islamophobia, antisemitism and attacks on Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.
It’s time for anti-racists to take to the streets and show we are the majority. Join us as part of an international coordinated demonstrations for a #WorldAgainstRacism
