Scottish Local Government Living Wage Consolidation

As part of the current pay deal 2018 to 2021, the Scottish Local Government Living Wage (SLGLW) must be consolidated into the pay and grading system in all Scottish Local Authorities by March 31st 2021. Whilst all local government workers in Scotland are paid at least the SLGLW some councils, including Edinburgh, are yet to consolidate and still pay a supplement accommodating the requirement on hourly pay.

Negotiations between CEC and the joint trade unions have only recently begun. The complexity of the exercise means that these negotiations could last some time. Unite CEC branch negotiators are committed to ensuring that the process of consolidation is fair and focussed on improvements to the financial circumstances of council employees.

If you feel you may be affected by consolidation please contact the branch using the comment box below or the contact page
