The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting hundreds of early years staff and Unite are offering support to members and non-members, Council staff and other workers that are interested in these roles.
Background
The Scottish Government have increased the free hours of early learning and childcare from 600 to 1,140. The new hours come into force in August 2020, but some nurseries are offering the longer hours already. Read about the early years expansion on the Council’s site.
The jobs
Jobs range from grade 3 (Early Years Assistant) to grade 7 (Senior Early Years Officer) dependent on skills and experience. There is career progression available for those with the ability to learn and achieve qualifications.
