Face coverings at work—for those exempt

Members reported that those who are exempt from wearing face covering due to health conditions were being treated unfairly and told they needed to wear them.

We raised this issue with management, who responded that workers should be treated in line with the legisltation.

The First Minster statement indicated that we should be ‘kind’ and not to challenge anyone not wearing a face covering as it is very likely they are wearing them for a medical reason

If you are challenged on not wearing a face covering at work, when you are exempt from wearing one, direct your manager to this information and contact us.
